Join the Cape Ann Museum for a FREE artist talk with Julie Graham this Sunday at 2:00 pm!

This program marks the 7th year of collaboration with the Rocky Neck Art Colony for the Distinguished Artist/Teacher Goetemann Artist in Residence lecture. Graham – a painter, photographer, sculptor, and faculty member of the School of the MFA Boston – will address the evolution of her work, focusing on the importance of source material and inspiration, as well as how things may change or stay the same over the course of a career.

SeniorCare Inc.’s recently established program “Seniors Out & About – An LGBT Social Gathering” organizes events for older LGBT people (60 years of age and older), their friends and family. Our next event will be a Lecture and Tour of Gloucester’s Beauport, Sleeper McCann House on Thursday, September 29, 2016. The private museum tour will begin at 5:30 p.m. at Beauport, located at 75 Eastern Point Blvd in Gloucester. Following the Tour, there will be a lecture at 7:30 p.m. at the Rocky Neck Cultural Center at 6 Rocky Neck Avenue in Gloucester. Join us for an interesting look into the history of one of Gloucester’s most unique treasures, the Beauport Museum, which was known as a “Bachelor’s House” in the early twentieth century, a coded reference to a homosexual household or homeowner.

Starting today until August 8 we are reducing the entry fee for either singles tournament.  The fee was originally $45, and starting today until Aug. 8 it is now $35.  Anyone interested in taking advantage of this needs to email:

I have attached a flyer in hopes of getting some of your readers to join us in our Annual Tennis Tournament.  We still have a few spots open, but registration closes Monday night 8/8 at 10:00pm.
This year we are sponsored by USTA-New England.  We are using a double elimination format, and will have 3 categories.  A singles advanced level, a singles intermediate level, and a doubles intermediate level.
This is a Fun Tennis Tournament for High School kids on up.  It’s for male, female, and any skill level.  This is a great way to play some tennis, and Enjoy Gloucester!

The Rotary Club of Gloucester MA will hold its annual Comedy Show Fundraiser on Thursday, September 1, 2016, at Cruiseport Gloucester, located at 6 Rowe Square in downtown Gloucester, MA.  This year’s Comedy Night features comedians Tony V., Steve Calechman, Chris Dimitrakopoulos, and Dave Rattigan. Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm.
