Veteran’s Day at the Cape Ann Museum
Active military, veterans and their families are invited to join us at the Cape Ann Museum for free on Veterans Day next Friday, November 11!
The Museum will have an ongoing video program in the auditorium featuring images from the Civil War to Vietnam with a voice-over of letters written home by soldiers.

Also offered on Veteran’s Day is will be a special military-themed tour at 2:00 pm looking at items from our collection like this cannon ball that was fired into the facade of the First Parish Unitarian Church of Gloucester in 1775.

The Museum’s Activity Center will be open all day for families with younger children to enjoy clean art projects, picture books, building blocks and a half size dory for lobster fishing play.
Gallery Talk with Paul Cary Goldberg
Saturday, November 12 at 2:00p.m.
Photographer Paul Cary Goldberg, whose photographs are included in the special exhibition Voicing the Woods: Jeremy Adams, Instrument Maker, worked closely with Adams over a period of three months in an effort to capture the complexity, mechanics, beauty, detail and personality of the instruments and their maker. The resulting photographs, commissioned by the Museum, offer insight into the work and the process, highlighting the exquisite detail and craftsmanship of the instruments and underscoring the breadth and volume of Adams’s work.
Join Goldberg for a tour through the new exhibition during this intimate afternoon program.
