Festival by the Sea is a celebration of the things that are synonymous with Cape Ann in the summertime: Art, Music & Food! Over 100 vendor booths will be spread throughout downtown Manchester-by-the-Sea. Your senses will be inspired by the beautiful art, extraordinary live music and the aromas of delicious, local foods. This annual festival is brought to you by the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce.

Gloucester’s Summer Block Parties have become a Cape Ann Classic, and the Cape Ann Chamber is excited to be presenting three Block Parties this summer in partnership with the City of Gloucester. The first one will be Saturday, July 15. From 6 PM 10 PM on Main Street, party-goers will enjoy al fresco dining, live outdoor entertainment, free children’s activities, and street performers for a fun night on the town. The Block Parties offer local shopping, food and non-stop fun. We hope to see you there!

The Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the 2017 Cape Ann small business persons of the year, all of whom will be recognized during Cape Ann Small Business Week, June 5- 9. This year’s honorees are Jay Sibulkin of Allen’s Pharmacy in Manchester, Greg Bover of C.B. Fisk, Inc., in Gloucester, Matt and Missy Anzivino of Rockport Inn & Suites in Rockport and Georgeanne Richards of Sea Meadow Gifts in Essex. All will be saluted at the Chamber’s 37th Annual Small Business Week Luncheon on Friday, June 9, beginning at 11:30 AM at The Essex Room at Woodman’s, 125 Main Street, Essex. State Senator Bruce Tarr will be the keynote speaker at Friday’s awards and recognition luncheon, where five area high school graduating seniors will also be recognized as 2017 Cape Ann scholars.
Every year since 1981 the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce has set aside the first week of June as Cape Ann Small Business Week, to honor the achievements of Cape Ann’s small business entrepreneurs and their employees, and their contributions to the economic vitality and community life of Cape Ann. This year’s Cape Ann small business persons of the year will also be honored individually at complimentary evening receptions in their respective communities during Small Business Week. The Manchester reception for Jay Sibulkin will be held on Monday, June 5 at 7 Central; the Rockport reception for Matt and Missy Anzivino will take place on Tuesday, June 6 at My Place by the Sea; the Gloucester reception will be held on Wednesday, June 7 at The Studio Restaurant; and the Essex reception will be at Shea’s Riverside on Thursday, June 8. The Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce has launched a New Member Drive, and is offering a special discounted rate of $295 for businesses that join the Chamber by May 31, 2017. Businesses joining during the New Member Drive will also receive a package of advertising and promotional incentives valued at over $3,500, including free incentives worth a total of $1,500.
Scores of volunteers from among the Chamber’s more than 800 member businesses have been reaching out to prospective members during the past several weeks. They will be getting together in the coming days to call Cape Ann business owners and share their insights about the value of being a member of the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce.
Dozens of new and prospective members recently attended a reception and information meeting hosted by the Chamber at Cruiseport. Representatives from the Chamber’s Board of Directors and Ambassadors Committee, together with Chamber staff, were on hand to provide information and answer questions about Chamber programs, services and member benefits.
The event featured information stations staffed by members of the Chamber’s Committees and Councils, including Next Generation Cape Ann, and a brief Chamber overview presented by CEO Ken Riehl and Board President Sara Young of Schooner Adventure.
