The Fall Luncheon is where we announce the winner of the Carolyn O’Connor Scholarship Award. This is a yearly scholarship awarded to a woman who is going back to school to further her education. Carolyn O’Connor was the first Chairwoman of the Businesswoman’s Committee. This award honors her dedication to the Businesswomen of Cape Ann and the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce.

Join the Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce on Thursday, October 6, for the Chamber’s annual $25,000 Game. The event will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at The Gloucester House Restaurant, 63 Rogers Street, Gloucester, MA, and one person will walk away the lucky winner of $10,000. As one of the most exciting and fun-filled events on Cape Ann this Fall, it will also feature a 50/50 raffle, door prizes and much more. A total of $25,000 in prizes!

Tickets are available on a first come first served basis at the Chamber office located at 33 Commercial Street in Gloucester and are $100 each. A limit of 500 tickets will be sold. Each ticket admits the ticket holder and one guest to the Gloucester House festivities on October 6 th and includes a light dinner. Prizes are as follows:

Grand Prize: $10,000
2nd Prize: $5,000
3rd Prizes: $2,500
4th Prizes: $1,000 each (6 lucky winners)
5th Prize: $500 (3 lucky winners)

Join us on Main Street on August 20th for a fun, festive event that brings downtown Gloucester to life! A portion of Main Street is closed off and festivities are held from 6:00 – 10:00 PM. The 36th Annual Gloucester Waterfront Festival will be held at Stage Fort Park on August 20 and 21. View the works of Juried Artists and Craftsmen from throughout the U.S.A. Continuous live music, traditional New England Seafood, a fabulous pancake breakfast and Antique Cars complement this picture perfect seaport event!

It will be an exciting weekend in Gloucester with lots to do – we look forward to seeing you there!

The Cape Ann Chamber of Commerce’s Annual Auction celebrates its 29th run on Thursday, July 14 beginning at 5:00 PM at The Essex Room at Woodman’s, 125R Main Street, Essex. For added fun a FREE Auction Preview/Business After Hours, will also be held at The Essex Room, on Wednesday, July 13 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. This special Auction Preview evening will be a great opportunity to mingle with friends, preview this year’s Live Auction treasures and get an early start on Silent Auction bidding.

This Thursday’s main event will bring together bidders from across Cape Ann and the North Shore in hopes of going home with marquee auction items. Led by committee chair Tony Corrao, the auction committee’s preparations are humming along. Over $100,000 worth of donated items are already in hand and great new packages have been arriving daily from Chamber members and friends.

“This is one of the premier summer gatherings on Cape Ann,” said Carol Morse, a staunch supporter of the Chamber Auction for many years, adding: “This year’s Auction promises to be another great success and one of the best nights of the summer.”

Original paintings by Cape Ann’s leading artists, including Ken Knowles, Robert Gruppe, John Terelak, and Carole Loiacono; tickets to Red Sox, Bruins and Patriots games; exciting trips and adventures, including a South Africa Photo Safari; many vacation packages to fun places, including New Hampshire’s White Mountains, Portland, ME, Niagara Falls and Newport, RI; a select Afghanistan rug from Landry & Arcari; a beverage center from Doyon’s; and great shop and dine packages from Cape Ann shops and eateries are just some of the auction highlights. Plenty of other fun and unique items will also be up for bid.

Gloucester’s Summer Block Parties have become a Cape Ann Classic, and the Cape Ann Chamber is excited to be presenting three Block Parties this summer in partnership with the City of Gloucester. The first one will be Saturday, July 16th. From 6 PM 10 PM on Main Street, party-goers will enjoy al fresco dining, live outdoor entertainment, free children’s activities, and street performers for a fun night on the town. The Block Parties offer local shopping, food and non-stop fun!

This past week we celebrated ribbon cuttings with three local businesses.  Tonno Restaurant in Gloucester had a ribbon cutting ceremony to kick off their grand opening in the afternoon on Friday, June 17. Later that evening, 7th Wave Restaurant had a ribbon cutting to celebrate new General Manager Natasha Khan and Executive Chef Zac Tran bringing on a new menu concept.  Monday afternoon, June 20, The Brass Monkey welcomed family, friends and customers to join in their ribbon cutting and grand opening celebration.

The Chamber has some exciting ribbon cuttings coming up on Cape Ann.  We’ll be at 7th Wave Restaurant, Tonno Restaurant and The Brass Monkey with our big scissors and ribbon!  We invite you all to join!

The Chamber will hold a Ribbon Cutting ceremony at Tonno Restaurant at 2 Main Street in Gloucester on Friday, June 17, 2016 at 3:00 PM. The ribbon cutting will celebrate the grand opening of the restaurant.

Later that night, June 17 at 7:00 PM, we’ll be in at 7 Tuna Wharf in Rockport for a Ribbon Cutting ceremony at 7^th Wave Restaurant . The ribbon cutting will celebrate the grand re-opening and of the restaurant and New Concept Menu under new owners, Natasha Kahn and Zac Tran.

The Brass Monkey is having a grand opening celebration at 85 Main Street in Gloucester on Monday, June 20, 2015 at 5:00 PM. Their newly renovated space is open for business with an eclectic mix of goods.
