Saturday May 7:
Gloucester Public School District Art Festival is Saturday May 14
Sawyer Free Library will have elementary school artwork on display on the ground floor, in and near Children’s Services.
We will also host the Gloucester High School art exhibit, including a Culinary Art reception in the Friend Room. The Matz Gallery will have Gloucester High School artwork on display in the Matz Gallery for the rest of May.
Annual Book Sale is coming soon!

You are invited to submit photographs for the 2016 “Where Is It?” exhibition in the Matz Gallery at the Sawyer Free Library. this exhibition is about places in Gloucester that are not hard to find – just sometimes overlooked! All photos must be visible from public roadways or walkways. To enter, send up to 3 photographs in JPEG format to: cpark@pobox.com Please put Gloucester Exhibit on the subject line of your email. The deadline for submission is April 25. Applicants will be notified by May 10 if their work has been selected. The photographs will be exhibited in the Matz Gallery during the month of June.

New at Sawyer Free Library:
We have purchased extra copies of bestselling books that you can borrow and return within a week, so if you love bestsellers but hate to wait for them, and can read fast, come in and see what we have!
This week’s Cape Ann Reads event:
Altered Books Workshop for Teens and Adults
Wednesday March 23 at 6:30 PM: We’ll use worn books as our canvas for three dimensional art projects. You may bring your own worn-out book, or use one of older discards for the canvas.
