The Magnolia Cribbage League will meet on Wednesday, September 7, 6pm in the Magnolia Library Center (1 Lexington Ave). This is an informal evening of cribbage games. Attention Professional and Recreational Photographers
A 12-month Cape Ann photo raffle calendar that will be sold through the Gloucester Rotary. A raffle ticket will be attached to each calendar and a winning number will be chosen each week in 2023. All profits from the calendar sales will go to the Gloucester Rotary’s efforts to raise money to support the many community and international activities in which the group is involved.
2023 Calendar Theme: Gloucester 400
In 2023, Gloucester is celebrating its 400th birthday, and the Gloucester Rotary wants to celebrate this with its calendar. Please, submit photos that reflect the best of Gloucester. Only photographs from Gloucester will be accepted. A selection committee from the Rotary will make the choices. (a photo release must be included for all individuals in image)
Technical specifications & rules:
Horizontal, color, minimum size 12 x 8” digital .jpg files at 300 dpi, maximum size 12 mb. In your entry submission email, title and identify where the photos were shot (e.g., Smith Cove) and, if possible, the month they were created. Photo title must be in your file name (example: kayakers-smith cove-may.jpg). Make sure to give your name and contact info in the email with your entries, including your mailing address, phone number and email address. Because of the large number of entries we expect, entries that do not meet the minimum size requirements and/or photographers who fail to provide the required entry info will be automatically rejected. In addition, no copyright watermarks are to be embedded in the photos or they will be disqualified. A signed photo release form must be provided for all individuals in the image.
Photographers who submit photos understand that we may need to slightly crop or downsize the winning entries for printing purposes and accept this. We reserve the right to use low res files of winning entries to help advertising the sale of the calendar. Winning entrants will have the photo title or location and photographers name printed under the photo.

Three separate stages will be providing live music and the crowd favorite Cape Ann Dance will be performing. Enjoy the “Scottish flair” of Kilted Colin and Stiles School of Scottish Dance. The Penniless Jacks, Harper & Minstrel and the Ladies of Integrity, Aristocracy, Repute and Society (L.I.A.R.S) join us on Saturday, August 13th and Sunday, August 14th for two full days of medieval, Renaissance and Celtic music. During the special program, the three groups will rotate around the museum and offer multiple 30 minute performances at the Drawbridge, Great Hall, Seaside Lawn and Dining Room. Guest may enjoy self-guided tours throughout the day.
General parking for this event will not occur on premise. Please note – Free Parking will be hosted at the Gloucester High School and there will be a free shuttle running between the high school and the Museum from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm on both days. Handicapped parking will be offered on-site. Rain or Shine. In the event of inclement weather, all performances will be moved to the interior of the Museum.

The 2nd of our three popular summer 2022 block party events that celebrate all that downtown Gloucester has to offer is on this Saturday, August 13, from 6 PM to 10 PM. Guests enjoy live music on three separate stages, street performers (featuring Kilted Colin, Cape Ann Dance, Stiles School of Scottish Dance, Picasso’s Balloonatik, and Captain Jack), Al fresco dining, food trucks, vendors, face painting, non-profits, Cape Ann Vernal Pond with featured creatures, games, and more!
