Holy Family Christmas Fair
On Saturday, December 19 from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Holy Family Parish celebrates the restoration of the Msgr. Sullivan hall with a theme of “Deck the Hall Christmas Fair.”
The original painted mural in the front hall of Cardinal Richard Cushing blessing the fleet will still welcome fans of this popular Christmas event as will the painting of the parish band marching in the Rose Bowl Parade in 1963.
The church of the fishermen will offer “coastal Christmas decorations (hall chairs painted in a nautical fashion and decorated Christmas front door buoys keeping with our parish coastal history.
The Parish has had some donated unique vintage antique items such as a restored Hoosier cabinet, a Victorian baby carriage and kitchen chairs.
There will be photos with Santa, Italian cookies, candy, white elephant table, a Chinese raffle, the basket wheel, fresh Christmas greens, (wreaths, swags, front step vintage decorations) and much more.
Parishioners invite you to come to the Fair and enjoy the new hall as we continue on our journey to revamp the whole church

Thanksgiving Holiday Dinner
Good afternoon: I am the Commander of the Cpt. Lester S. Wass American Legion American Legion Post No., 3. We are having our annual Thanksgiving Holiday meal on Thursday, November 24, 2016. It’s completely free. I’ve attached a flyer which explains the event. I would appreciate it if you could disseminate this. It’s open to all Cape Ann residents in need, including Gloucester, Rockport, Manchester, Essex and now Ipswich, especially veterans. As always, we are looking for volunteers. I want to reach as wide an audience as I can for the holiday. I don’t want anyone who needs a meal to be left out.
For God and Country
Capt. Lester S. Wass Post No. 3 Of The American Legion
Department of Massachusetts, Inc.
Thanksgiving Holiday Dinner,
The American Legion, Post 3, will again deliver free Thanksgiving Holiday Dinners to the
elderly, shut-ins, veterans, and needy in the Cape Ann area on Thanksgiving, Thursday,
November 24, 2016. The American Legion Post No. 3’s mission is to insure that no one
goes without a holiday meal on this special day. Every year, many of our recipients are
veterans and/or their families. Often, the only individuals that these “special citizens” see
on these holidays are our drivers, who bring not only an outstanding holiday meal but
also a cheery greeting and smile. Our goal is to serve as many meals as we can. In light
of continuing economic hardship and cutbacks, the demand and requests for support
continues to rise and we want to meet it!
Volunteer Servers and Drivers are also needed for Thanksgiving Day. We will need servers
from 10:00am until approximately 12:45pm and drivers from 10:15am until all of the
meals have been delivered.
How to order and volunteer:
1. Call 978-283-9710 after 3:00 p.m. (and leave a message) 2. Call 978-283-7117 anytime (and
leave a message)
3. Email you request to nestorlaw@aol.com
Please make sure to clearly give your name, address, phone number and number of meals.
Deadline for meal orders and volunteer sign up:
6:00pm Monday, November 21, 2016.
Details:
Deliveries will be made on Thanksgiving Day between 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. The
Post will also serve free dinners at the Legion on Thanksgiving Day starting from
approximately 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m.
Monetary donations, turkeys, pies, and produce are also needed. Mail monetary donations to
American Legion Post 3, P. O. Box 122, Gloucester, MA 01931-0122, or call 978.283.9710 after
3:00p.m. or 978-283-7117 anytime to arrange for pickup of food products.
