West Parish students paint for GEF 10th Birthday Gala

Students at West Parish Elementary School  paint a garden bench that will be auctioned off at the 10th Birthday Gala for the Gloucester Education Foundation.

The Gloucester Education Foundation’s 10th Birthday Gala is a fundraising event to celebrate and support GEF, and the organization’s work in the Gloucester Public Schools. Garden benches painted by students at each of the Gloucester schools will be auctioned off at the event held on Friday, November 4th at the Beauport Hotel.

November 11th Blood Drive

The Enchanted Kingdom – Halloween Fun without the Fright

The Gloucester Unitarian Universalist Church will host “The Enchanted Kingdom”, an alternative to scary haunted houses, on Sunday, October 30 from 4-6pm.  If you are looking for Halloween fun without the fright, come visit and play in the Fairy Garden, Elf Forest and Magic Castle. Created with three to ten year-olds in mind, the kingdom will delight all ages.2016-flyer

Cape Ann TV’s Lunch & Learn Series: “DSLR vs. Camcorder – What’s the right choice for your shoot?”

Cape Ann TV’s Lunch & Learn Series continues on Wednesday, November 2 at 12 pm with “DSLR vs. Camcorder – What’s the right choice for your shoot?”presented by professional video producer, Ted Reed.

Award-winning TV producer Ted Reed will show how to get the most out of both, their strengths and weaknesses, and even how to use both together effectively.

Veterans Luncheon at the Rose Baker Senior Center

In celebration of Veterans Day, SeniorCare and the Gloucester Council on Aging invite all Veterans to a special meal in their honor on Thursday, November 3, 2016, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., at the Rose Baker Senior Center located at 6 Manuel F Lewis Street in downtown Gloucester.

The luncheon will feature lunch and Veteran recognition. Lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m.  The menu includes Dijon Pork with Gravy, Sweet Potatoes, Herbed Peas, Bread and Chocolate Pudding.

As part of the festivities, The Kiosk for Living Well will make a special visit to the Rose Baker Senior Center on November 3, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.  Veterans and friends are invited to stop by and try some Vets Trivia and other fun activities.

For information or to make reservations for the lunch, please contact the Rose Baker Senior Center at 978-283-0359. A $2 voluntary confidential donation is requested for non-veterans age 60+.
