Apply for a GHS summer internship for July and August. Get a jump on your friends and nail down a summer job. THERE ARE VERY LIMITED OPEN SLOTS, SO WE LOOK FORWARD TO REVIEWING YOUR APPLICATION ASAP!

As part of this internship you will:

• Be matched with a local company where you will gain important workplace skills
• WE HAVE MULTIPLE LISTINGS IN RETAIL, FOOD SERVICE, FARMING, RESEARCH, ART, AND OTHER VARIOUS BUSINESSES AND NONPROFITS
• Start to build a solid resume for college and future endeavors

Internship highlights:

• Open to students in 9^th through 12^th grades
• Interviews are being conducted now!
• A 2.5 hour workplace skills workshop each Wednesday at GHS during the weeks of July 9th- August 17th, and an internship placement at least 10 hours per week (exact weeks/hours will depend on the employer but will mostly be over those 6 weeks)

Gloucester Biotechnology Academy is still accepting students for its upcoming class of 2019.  Classes begin in September.  There are no math or science prerequisites needed –  all high school graduates between the ages of 18 and 26 are encouraged to apply!

Spring seedling sale happening at the Backyard Growers Office (271 Main St.) on Sunday, April 22nd. Seedlings grown by Cedar Rock Gardens in West Gloucester and can be available through purchase of cash, card, check, or SNAP/EBT.

For over 50 years, ACTION INC. has been dedicated to helping residents of Cape Ann access better opportunities through affordable housing advocacy, job training & education programs, emergency shelter services, fuel assistance, energy efficiency updates, and so much more.

 

Come donate canned and non-perishable foods at Market Basket and Shaw’s on Eastern Avenue from 9 am to 3 pm.  The Gloucester Knights of Columbus and Rockport Boy Scouts will be collecting for the St Vincent de Paul Food Pantry located at Holy Family Parish.  You can also donate after Mass at St Anns and Our Lady of Good Voyage on the 5th and 6th.  Help feed local families in need!
