6th Annual NSHP Community Health Activist Award is being awarded in June to Gloucester Police Chief Leonard Campanello

Greetings from the North Shore Health Project!

May is shaping up to be a very exciting month for the NSHP and for Gloucester !

We are pleased to announce that the 6th Annual NSHP Community Health Activist Award is being awarded in June to Gloucester Police Chief Leonard Campanello, John Rosenthal and the PAARI Initiative for their work in developing the Angel Program, a revolutionary new way to fight the war on drugs by doing something about the demand, not just the supply.

This is, of course, after Chief Campanello is honored TODAY as a “Champion of Change” by President Obama at the White House for his tireless work helping law enforcement officers around the country to take a stand against the disease of addiction.

Please join us as we celebrate the crucial work that is being done by PAARI on Thursday morning, June 2nd, 2016, at the Gloucester House on Rogers Street in Gloucester . Breakfast will be served at 7:30 a.m. with remarks from local officials, colleagues and others. The program will conclude by 9 a.m.

Admission to the breakfast is $30, and you may make reservations by calling 978-283-0101 or emailing scoviello@healthproject.org. You can also make a reservation and payment via mail to The North Shore Health Project, 5 Center Street , Gloucester , MA , 01930 . There will be a limited number of seats available on the day of the celebration, but please RSVP by May 20 so that we can have an accurate head count.

Many thanks also to BankGloucester for choosing us to be included on the ballot for their 9th annual “Banking for the Community” program! Beginning on Sunday, May 1st at 9AM, please vote for the North Shore Health Project at www.BankGloucester.com. One entry per person/email address. Consider sharing this link on your personal Facebook page to increase our chances. A total of $20,000 will be given to local non-profits, and every organization will receive some funds. Your voting will determine how much we will receive. Many thanks in advance. Spread the word! Proceeds from fundraisers like this one go directly to helping our clients live healthier lives.

In addition to the above, we are pleased to offer our usual array of case management services, holistics, peer support, group meals, outreach and education, and other ways to help keep our clients – and community – healthy.

Wishing you a happy Spring,

All of us here at the North Shore Health Project.
